The Corsair of the Future
The future of the luxury Lincoln brand is looking electric. According to a recent report by AutoForecast, Lincoln will release an electric version of the Corsair in 2026 or 2027. The report indicates that the Lincoln Corsair-E electric SUV will start production at the Oakville, Ontario plant in September of 2026. Lincoln has not officially commented on this report.
In the report, it indicates that the Lincoln Corsair-E will be produced on a dedicated EV platform that will be shared with other electric vehicles. It is possible that Ford will sell both the gasoline and electric versions alongside one another; however, they would be built on different platforms.
The Corsair of the Present
The current Lincoln Corsair is one of Lincoln’s best-selling models thanks to its comfortable cabin, smooth power, and well-equipped interior. If you are looking for an electrified version, there will be a plug-in hybrid version of the Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring model available later this year. This model is expected to offer about 25 miles of electric driving range.
For the 2021 model year, the Lincoln Corsair comes well-equipped with premium features including an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, faux leather upholstery, a power rear liftgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a suite of advanced driver safety aids.
The Lincoln Corsair is already an excellent luxury ride. An electric powertrain will enable SUV shoppers the ability to enjoy premium Lincoln amenities while reducing their carbon footprint.
